Marlene Bartsch
Marlene has been teaching private and group piano lessons, preschool music classes and music theory, music history lessons for over 39 years, both in BC and Ontario. Many of her students are now music instructors and professional musicians themselves, sharing their love of music around the world.
Marlene makes sure that firstly she identifies each student’s learning styles and then teaches specifically to the student’s needs, learning style and goals. She loves to impart her love of music. She always says ‘it is like learning a language, the language of music’. Marlene’s goal for her students to love music, love playing music and to become skilled and accomplished musicians.
Over the years Marlene has taught Royal Conservatory for Music curriculum, contemporary music and methods, jazz piano, chording styles, and group piano lessons. Marlene has her students successful participating in both the Kiwanis Music and the Surrey Music Festival.
Marlene began her studies at age 4 and has her degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has always been passionate about music and performing. Marlene received a scholarship from and attended Azusa Pacific University in California. Then she returned to Canada and continued her education at Trinity Western University in British Columbia. In 1998 Marlene received further training from Music For Young ChildrenTM, and has taught the specialized program for 8 years.
In 2016 to 2021, Marlene served the Fraser Valley musical community as the Vice President of the South Fraser Branch BCRTMA.
Carlene Wiebe
Piano Teacher and Voice Teacher, Lower Mainland, BC
Carlene is a graduate of the University of Victoria's music program where she attained a Bachelor of Music with Distinction in Voice Performance. Carlene has performed with Pacific Opera Chorus, Vancouver Opera Chorus, Opera Breve Vancouver, Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Thompson Valley Orchestra, and in the Butchart Gardens Summer Song and Dance Revue.
While living in Kamloops, Carlene had the privilege of performing in the BC Living Arts production, September Songs as well as the role of Serpina in Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona with the Brandenburg Orchestra.
She has been a voice and piano teacher for over 20 years. In that time she has also been a choral conductor, voice adjudicator and held singing master classes around the lower mainland. Carlene has taught voice lessons at the Kamloops Symphony Music School for the past 15 years and we have had the privilege of having her teach music now in Langley for 4 years at Yorkson Music Studio.
She is looking forward to continuing her teaching practice at the Yorkson Music and Art Studio. Carlene loves nothing more than helping students become more whole through studying music. She loved imparting her love of music to her students and especially enjoys teaching students about vocal health and longevity. Carlene teaches a wide variety of styles of piano and vocal music, most notably classical, popular, folk and musical theatre.

Vivian Wang
Piano Teacher, Lower Mainland, BC
Vivian Wang, a dedicated piano teacher with 17 years of experience, has nurtured a passion for music since childhood. Beginning her piano and vocal training at age five, she pursued a career in music education, earning a bachelor’s degree in piano education from Minzu University of China and Renmin University of China.
Vivian has judged and examined piano competitions in China and is well-versed in child psychology and vocal courses.
Her teaching philosophy is to tailor lessons to each student's unique needs, fostering their musical perception and expression. Vivian's rich teaching experience and personalized approach have guided many students to find joy and accomplishment in music. She looks forward to embarking on a wonderful musical journey with her students.

David Cai
Piano Teacher, Penticton, BC
David has been learning piano and music theory for 12 years, since age 5. He has performed in community recitals and competed in the Penticton Kiwanis Music Festival, winning awards such as Pianoforte Ensemble trophies and the ARCT Triumph Trophy.
Nearing the completion of his ARCT Diploma, David is finishing high school at Penticton Secondary. He aims to share his musical knowledge and passion for piano with young students, sparking curiosity and enhancing their performance skills while ensuring they enjoy and develop their talent.
